Tim and Dave all-but grew up in kayaks, schooled in the art by their father (Nic Burne), who despite now being a pensioner is still regularly paddling and participating in events such as the WWPF and Etive Race. Since overtaking their dad, between them the Burne brothers have kayaked whitewater in over 25 different countries, and have undertaken numerous expeditions in all sorts of environments from high altitude desert to dense jungle. Dave was recently awarded the 2011 CKUK Magazine Chris Wheeler Adventure Paddler of the Year recognising his many years of commitment to the fine art of expedition paddling. Tim has recently returned from an ambitious, if not entirely successful, expedition to complete a first descent in Papuan Indonesia, which was filmed by a production company for the Discovery Channel. |
