The Valsesia River Festival website, is now open for booking. We offer a range of different festival passes, plus race only or day clinic drop in options too. We’ve added a group offer for day clinics during the festival with Gene17.

For 2012 we’ve placing the Sesia Alpin Sprint as the headline event, open to all Class III/IV paddlers. In the coming weeks, we’ll add details of the entertainment that will include a big party to celebrate Gene17′s 10th Birthday. The VRF 2012 is from 30th May to 3rd June in Campertogno.

NORWAY PROGRESSIVE – A TRIP FOR ALL

Our most popular Norway trip the Progressive & Dynamic, is for the Class III/IV paddler wishing to have it all, whether it’s creeking, big volume, play waves and pool drop white water. Norway although famed for it’s big slides and drops, there is a wide range of paddling for all levels with most of the runs being great for intermediate paddlers. We focus on developing tactics for the modern paddler and the techniques to deliver those desirable lines. Without doubt there are few better places to be in your kayak during summer.

We of course love a paddling road trip and this summer you can join us on a classic west coast adventure from Sjoa to Valldal and back again with our Norway Road Trip. We take in the some of the best of Norway, the Rauma, Ula, Mikkebus and Tora. Plus drive up the impressive Troll Road, pass under the Troll Wall, eat strawberry cake in Valldal and sail up the impressive Geiranger fjord. Picture postcard paddling, scenery and an adventure to boot.

SJOA RIVER FESTIVAL

16 years and counting, the Sjoa River Festival has an enduring popularity with paddlers from a far. It’s a meeting point event in the middle of the norwegian summer, and never fails to impress new comers and enjoyed by all. We have races, clinics, parties and opportunities to make new friends and enjoy the paddling across the many runs found in the Sjoa area.

END OF SUMMER FUN IN SLOVENIA

With all the summer ahead of us, it’s hard to imagine what to do at the end. Not everyone can get away earlier in the season for paddling, so every year we offer an end of summer trip to Slovenia for the likes of school teachers amongst others.

Our Fundamental Core trip is on the Soča, with it’s prefect blue waters and wonderful paddler’s classroom. At this time of the year, most of the crowds have left, leaving near endless eddies, waves and fun lines to enjoy in the late summer haze.

SJOA KAYAK CAMP

Gene17 partners with Sjoa local kayak store Strie Strømmer to run the perfectly located Sjoa Kayak Camp.  We have a new Camp Manager for 2012, Isabel from Chile, a keen paddler and experienced camp manager from Futalafu.  At the camp, home to the highly popular Sjoa River Festival in July. Gene17 will offer a number of short coaching courses, such as it’s Fundamental Core, Progressive & Dynamic & Steep Creeking, aimed at the Nordic and travelling paddlers.
